Scan a paper work sheet into a reviewable draft
Turn a photographed work sheet into an editable draft, then compare it with the paper before saving money figures.
A photo can reduce typing, but handwriting, shadows and table lines can confuse recognition. NailWage returns a scan as a draft for the owner to review. Completing a scan does not mean the figures have been saved as daily work or finalized for a technician.
What to prepare
Take a straight, well-lit photo with readable column headings. Have the technician list and work dates ready. Remove unrelated customer information before uploading; the scan is sent to a recognition service for processing rather than staying entirely on the device.
How to use it
- Sign in, open the work-entry import screen and choose the scan option.
- Compare the draft with the original image, checking names, dates and cash, card and tip columns.
- Correct decimal points, missing digits and merged rows, then check each technician’s totals.
- Save only after review, and inspect the saved daily work once more.
An example to check
Illustrative example: a blurred $18 tip can be read as $78. That number may still pass a basic format check. Comparing the paper total and reading the individual row is what catches the mistake before closeout.
Next step
Test a short sheet first and keep the original until reconciliation is complete. The owner remains responsible for deciding when the draft is ready to save.
