Set up technician records before entering work

Set up the correct technician records and exceptions so daily work uses the intended person and payout settings.

Similar names, nicknames and duplicate records can split a technician’s figures across the work sheet. A NailWage technician record belongs to a specific salon. The owner can use salon defaults or enter individual overrides when the actual arrangement differs.

What to prepare

Prepare a consistent name and the commission arrangement being recorded. Check tip payout method, check percentage and who bears card fees. If W2 or 1099 is recorded for estimate views, use a classification established outside the app; selecting a dropdown does not make that classification lawful.

How to use it

  • Sign in, select the correct salon and open Technicians.
  • Look for an existing record before adding someone new.
  • Review which fields inherit salon defaults and enter overrides only for real exceptions.
  • Save, test a daily-work row and inspect the calculation before entering an entire week.

An example to check

Illustrative example: the usual technician share is 60%, but one technician’s recorded arrangement is 65%. A clearly assigned override is easier to review than changing the salon default and trying to remember which person was the exception.

Next step

Check the first few records against the salon’s current work sheet. The free pilot removes the nine-technician plan limit, while salon ownership and data-access boundaries still apply.
