Monthly card-fee reminders and rate-change checks

Use a missing-statement reminder to build a review habit without treating a rate-change signal as proof of a billing error.

Merchant statements often arrive while the owner is busy. NailWage includes fee-check reminders for salons already using saved statement history. The purpose is to bring you back to a specific unfinished review, not to negotiate with the processor or decide that the terminal should be replaced.

What to prepare

First save a reviewed fee check and verify the account email. Check the reminder preference in Card Fees and turn it off if you do not want these messages. Recent history with the previous month still missing is the relevant reminder case.

How to use it

  • Open Card Fees for the correct salon and review its email-reminder preference.
  • When a reminder arrives, locate the statement month it refers to.
  • Save checked figures, then compare effective rates and the basis of the comparison.
  • If a rate differs, inspect fixed fees, transaction mix and statement changes before contacting the processor.

An example to check

For example, a salon has saved August but has not reviewed September. The reminder points back to that missing work. If September is already recorded, do not create another entry simply because an older email remains in the inbox.

Next step

Choose a reminder preference your salon will actually use, then assess whether statements are being reviewed more consistently.
