Manage appointments and walk-ins at your front desk
Keep appointments and walk-ins on one status board so the front desk can see what needs attention next.
During a busy shift, the immediate problem is often knowing who has arrived, who is waiting and which technician has started. NailWage’s front-desk board lets the owner record appointments or walk-ins, assign a technician and update visit status. Someone at the salon still supplies the real-world updates.
What to prepare
Before starting, check the salon timezone, service list and active technicians. Use enough customer information to identify the visit and agree on how the team calls waiting guests. If availability rules are enabled, review suitable shifts and resources before selecting an appointment.
How to use it
- Sign in, choose the salon and open Front Desk for the correct salon-local date.
- Record an appointment or a walk-in for the relevant service.
- Mark the guest waiting when they arrive, choose a suitable technician and start service.
- Complete, cancel or mark a no-show according to what happened, then review unfinished visits at handover.
An example to check
For example, a 2 p.m. appointment arrives at 1:50 while a walk-in is waiting. The board makes both visits visible, but does not decide who should be served first. The front desk still communicates timing and chooses the operational response.
Next step
Try one short shift with a named person responsible for updates. Compare the board with actual visits before expanding the routine.
